Travesti - Powerpoint

An artist in the archive

The departmental archives of the Alpes de Haute-Provence are known for their dynamism and originality of cultural policies. I confess that when I heard about the artists' residence in central archives, I found it particularly incongruous and unconvincing. The AD04 welcome indeed an annual artist in residence and have his work at an exhibition a month which is held as part of Art in May. This year, two exhibitions have been: after the Christmas Duval, the exhibition "Archives runaway" has been completed and presented the work of two artists, Cecilia and Marianne Morucci Nicolino. I found this experience very exciting and interesting in many ways: besides the fact that it can give an image a little less daunting archives and attract an audience that is not the one they typically experience, it also brings a totally new light on our everyday work and makes us consider another angle this matter with which we work every day and which, by force, we see more specificity and richness. The work of both artists was particularly fair and sensitive and I was very touched. Above all, the originality of the approach shows that not everything has been done in regard to cultural activity in the archives, so ... your imagination!
